Despite cold rain and gusty winds, Cary-Grove High School's athletic meet went on as scheduled today, and students turned out in strong numbers to compete with determination and team spirit. Track athletes powered through slick lanes to post impressive times in sprints and distance events, while field competitors adjusted to damp conditions and still managed solid throws and jumps. Coaches and teammates braved the weather to offer loud, encouraging support from the sidelines, and volunteers worked quickly to keep equipment and warm-up areas safe and dry. The day emphasized resilience: several personal bests were recorded, sportsmanship shone in every event, and the school community left the grounds proud of how the athletes faced the elements and competed with heart.
